Isn´t it kinky?

  • by

Dear Readers,

I was very astonished by this specific topic. But fetishes or kinks are actually something that exists within the ACE community. You may already have figured out from the first sentence that I don’t have a fetish or kink. But honestly, this topic really intrigued me.

What exactly is the difference between a kink and a fetish?

Per definition, a “kink” is a sexual behavior that is outside of the standard sexual practice.

A “fetish” refers to a specific object, sexual or non-sexual body part, or behavior that must be present for one to achieve sexual arousal and enjoyment.

Although sometimes the lines can get blurry or mixed.

The definitions all talk a lot about “sexual behavior” and isn’t that what we ACEs usually don’t have or have less?

Yes and no. Most of the time we talk about the actual physical act that is not wanted.

But some ACEs enjoy the state of being aroused without the need to act on it. So a kink could be a fantasy that someone has but that they would never want to actually try. Or they have a fetish that arouses them, but they have no intention of having sex.

And we shouldn’t forget that all ACEs within the sex -positiv area of the spectrum can enjoy sex.

But what feelings does a fetish or kink evoke in a non-sexual context?

The feelings that are mostly described are excitement, relaxation, intimacy, and empowerment.

Do you have experiences with kinks or fetishes? And what feelings does it evoke in you?
